DUKE OF ABRUZZI BIG BAND

The personell of the "DUKE OF ABRUZZI BIG BAND" is chosed among the best students of the jazz music school "Centro Attivita' Musicali" of Florence (Italy) and the Public Music School of Scandicci (a town near Florence) also managed by Centro Attivita' Musicali. The orchestra was founded in 1992 in the educational program of the Public Music School of Scandicci and has exibited mostly in the Toscana region. The "Duke of Abruzzi Big Band" has also featured some jazz italian well known musicians such as Paolo Fresu, Maurizio Giammarco, Mario Raja, Eddie Henderson, Lee Konitz, Marco Tamburini, Roberto Rossi and others in some of his concerts.
The program is based mostly on jazz standard tunes. Alessandro Fabbri is the director and the arranger of the most part of the music proposed by the orchestra.
